About Our Cheder
The mission of Cheder Chabad of Philadelphia is to provide children from the Greater Philadelphia area with a superior education based in Torah and Chassidic values.
We emphasize each child’s responsibility to make the world a better place, as outlined in Chabad philosophy. Through strong academics and equally strong character building experiences, students will grow to be proud of their Jewish identity, and express it well beyond the classroom walls.

Our Philosophy
The Chabad approach to education and Judaism is one that emphasizes Ahavat Yisrael, love for your fellow Jew and the oneness of Jews from all communities. As such, Cheder Chabad of Philadelphia students and their families have a deep and spirited involvement with the local Jewish community, and inspire greater involvement and commitment to Judaism among their neighbors.

Every Individual
Cheder’s educational approach is to view each student as an individual, with a unique personality, distinct strengths, home environment and a personal set of needs. Every child can succeed, and each child is taught and challenged on their own level.

Torah and Chassidus
Students are nurtured as Chassidim, developing a personal connection to the Torah learned, the Mitzvos observed, and the values and דרך of our Rebbe’im. Our students learn lifelong lessons from Torah.

Academic Excellence
We strive towards academic excellence in Limudei Kodesh and General Studies, with emphasis on the skills and process of learning.

Engaging and Meaningful Learning
Cheder strives to shape lifelong learners, by making learning engaging, meaningful and enjoyable for all ages. Learning is a life experience, hands-on and interactive, and students are empowered to own their learning.

Character Development
At Cheder, a strong emphasis is placed on Ahavas Yisroel (kindness, inclusion and friendship), and Derech Eretz (respect). These are skills that are first modeled, taught and celebrated, then expected and supported.
